starts to expand out of Seattle, first to the United States and then to the
rest of the world. In the 2000s Starbucks continues to grow as a popular coffee
shop. Starbucks has more than 15,000 locations in over 40 countries. Starbucks
has been offering Fairtrade coffee since 2000. Starbucks is now one of the
largest purchasers of Fairtrade certified coffee in the world. Starbucks buys
coffee this way because it helps foster a better future for farmers, and also
helps the environment.
